Kidney Transplantation is the standard of care for End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). It is offered to prolong and improve the lives of those with end-stage renal disease.
Kidney failure is the primary reason that someone may need a kidney transplant. Kidney failure may result from a number of conditions, such as:
Chronic glomerulonephritis: Ongoing inflammation and scarring in the small filters in your kidneys, called glomeruli.
Diabetes: A disease that interferes with how your body uses carbohydrates and can lead to high blood sugar (glucose).
Polycystic kidney disease: A disorder that causes cysts to grow in your kidneys.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension): When the force of your blood against your artery walls is chronically too high.

Many of the treatment protocols we provide are adapted from global guidelines and tested clinical practices that suit our local setting. Our range of treatments include:
Living donor transplant: These transplants involve removing a healthy kidney from a living donor and transplanting it to a recipient. Although anyone who is healthy can donate a kidney, the living donor is frequently a close friend or relative.
Transplant for patients with highly sensitized immune systems: These are patients that have elevated panel reactive antibody levels, positive crossmatch or donor specific antibodies. We can use specialized medications and procedures to ensure a successful kidney transplant.
Transplants for patients with difficult or advanced conditions, such as hepatitis C and HIV, are possible because of the knowledge of our doctors.
OUR SERVICES
PRE-TRANSPLANT EVALUATION:
The screening phase will help the transplant team decide if you are ready for the kidney transplant. If the transplant team decides you are ready, the next step will be for your transplant team to help you find a kidney match. On the day of the evaluation, you and your family will meet the members of the transplant team. The evaluation may take only one day, or it could take several days. You will need to have several health tests and exams at the transplant center before the transplant team can decide whether the surgery will be safe for you.
PREOPERATIVE CARE
During the pre-operative Phase, we facilitate and arrange pre-operative requirements such as admission, OR notification, clearances and consent.
Coordination among various departments involved in the possible transplant procedure is necessary.
The completeness of medicines, medical supplies and equipment to be used in the procedure is important. Emotional support for the recipient, donor, and family members must also be given.
INTRAOPERATIVE CARE
During the intraoperative phase, monitoring of status of recipient and donor including the Vital signs, Blood loss, and Cardiac status is necessary. Blood transfusion, induction therapy and other medication during operation are facilitated. After the clearance of the anesthesiologist, donor and recipient may be transferred back to room for further management and monitoring.
Dedicated bedside Kidney Transplant Nurses monitor the immediate post op course of the patients.
POST-OPERATIVE CARE
We provide direct quality patient care to oversee patient post-op complications, and adverse reaction to treatment. We also maintain communications with all the multidisciplinary team. Monitoring of ongoing plan of care is important and may implement changes accordingly.
We also prepare patient’s discharge, home instructions, dietary instructions and outpatient follow up.
POST KIDNEY TRANSPLANT SURVIELLANCE / MONITORING
We will monitor follow-up, post laboratory tests of both donor and recipient and evaluate health status as per clinical protocol.
We will communicate and coordinate any patient/issues and concerns to the transplant team member.
